Gryphon Architects is Nantucket based firm with a focus on residential and commercial architectural services to the island community. We have extensive experience with projects of all scales, from custom furniture and millwork, to renovations and new construction.
Each project begins with the needs and desires of our clients, considering environmental context and vernacular along with codes and regulations. Working with our client’s budget and timeline, we apply our design sensibilities and exploration, with a great appreciation for the craft of construction, to create a refined and unique design solution.

Personnel
Ethan Griffin is the President and Design Principal at Gryphon Architects. He has resided and practiced on Nantucket since 2004. He enjoys the design process at all scales and has a great appreciation for both the history and unique considerations of island life in contemporary times.
Ethan lives in the island’s Old Historic District. When not in the office or working on his 1840’s home, he can be found with his family at the beach or on the slopes of New England.
